SpecTec Partners with HarborMax
SpecTec has signed a formal partnership agreement with HarborMax, a South Korea based maritime technology and communications provider, to distribute AMOS and deliver onboard ICT services across South Korea and the wider Asia-Pacific region. The agreement was formalised and signed at SMM Hamburg 2026 and takes effect immediately.
Under the agreement, HarborMax will introduce and supply AMOS, the maritime asset management and compliance solution, to shipowners, ship managers and shipyards across the region.
This adds to HarborMax’s existing maritime internet solutions and its capabilities in 3D asset management systems, Marine Single Window and smart port services, giving customers a broader set of tools to draw on as they modernise their operations.
HarborMax’s ICT technology is present on more than 100 vessels across Asia, and the company has over 20 years of direct experience working with AMOS. That combination of maritime ICT expertise and long-standing familiarity with the platform was central to SpecTec’s decision to appoint HarborMax as its distribution partner for South Korea.
For SpecTec, the agreement extends AMOS into one of the fastest-growing regions for maritime digitalisation, through a partner already embedded in the local shipbuilding and ship management industry.
It builds on SpecTec’s existing regional footprint, including its Singapore hub and its partnership with Consurve Technic in Malaysia, reinforcing a consistent, multi-market approach to supporting owners and operators across Asia-Pacific rather than a standalone entry into a new territory.
For HarborMax, the agreement adds a proven asset management and compliance solution to a portfolio built around maritime communications and onboard ICT.
What is AMOS?
AMOS was the maritime industry’s first digital asset management system and has evolved over more than 40 years alongside the changing demands of the shipping sector.
It acts as the digital backbone of fleet operations, combining core asset management capabilities with an open integration framework that lets operators extend functionality through native modules and trusted partner solutions. This gives owners and operators control of safety-critical assets, supports compliance, and drives operational efficiency.
For owners and operators across Asia-Pacific, this matters at a time when fleets are managing an ageing vessel base alongside rising newbuild orders, diverse and evolving environmental regulations, and increasingly complex operations. A stronger regional presence puts SpecTec closer to customers as they work to reduce operational costs and manage maintenance and compliance more consistently.
